讲座摘要：
The 6G distributed MIMO (D-MIMO) antenna system is a transformative technology that leverages spatially distributed nodes to enhance spectral efficiency, coverage, and energy efficiency, enabling ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) and massive connectivity. Key challenges include near-field beamforming complexities due to ultra-dense antenna arrays, dynamic optimization of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), and efficient integration of reconfigurable intelligent network-controlled repeaters (RINCR) and radio weaves or stripes. Additionally, advanced electromagnetic (EM) theory is needed to model wave propagation in intelligent environments. Synchronization, fronthaul/backhaul demands, and scalability remain critical hurdles. Addressing these challenges is essential for realizing next-generation applications like holographic communications, DISAC, extended reality (XR), and the Internet of Everything (IoE) in 6G networks. Talk will review the progress 5G mm wave progress and address the remaining challenges, propose some possible DAS solutions, and give the trend of the developments in mmWave 2.0.
个人介绍：
应志农曾任索尼集团公司天线全球首席工程师 (Principal Engineer/Senior Expert in Antennas)。主要研究领域包括小天线，宽频段天线，多频段天线，MIMO多信道天线系统，GPS和定位系统, RFID, BAN, IoT网络，5G mmWave 终端和小型基站智能天线系统，信道特性，近区场和人体效应，massive MIMO antennas及天线测量技术。近年来应志农从事5G+ 和 6G天线和系统研究，包括RIS, meta antenna,THz, distributed MIMO antenna, 卫星，无人机天线系统，还参加3GPP 和 EMF 标准化工作。 发表了180余篇国际刊物及会议文章及7部专著书籍，在天线和移动通信领域享有180多项国际专利。他曾经是爱立信，索爱，索尼公司无线终端天线技术的指导者，应志农的几项重要发明在世界范围得到了广泛应用，基于这些专利生产的产品数以亿计，享誉全球业界。应志农早年还参与了爱立信发明的“蓝牙”技术的研究评估。1995年应志农的“应氏馈源”天线被用在世界最大的 (305米) Arecibo射电望远镜上。应志农获得1996年爱立信公司最佳发明奖，2002年索尼爱立信杰出贡献奖，2004年索尼爱立信总裁奖提名。由于其具有影响的成就，2005年应志农被选入了世界科学工程名人录。2006年获侨联评选的浙江省十大海外杰出华人为国贡献奖。2012年获杭州市首届侨界优秀人物奖，2021被选为著名的国际电子工程师学会会士 IEEE Fellow。
1995年加入爱立信任高级工程师，1998年任高级专家，2003年任权威专家(Expert)， 2012年出任索尼全球首席工程师， 被授予索尼全球杰出工程师DE Award荣誉。自2001至2020他兼任浙江大学/瑞典皇家工学院光和电磁波研究中心兼职博导教授。2008-2011 年任英国伦敦大学Queen Mary学院客座教授，2021年至今受聘担任丹麦Aalborg 大学工业讲座教授。2025年至今受聘电子科技大学长三角研究院特聘研究员。他还曾担任2003-2007年度欧洲ACE program 科学委员会成员（该委员会由全球大学，工业界10 名著名专家，学者组成）。
